I love doing nails but am just not ready for the blogging.  I will continue with the nail art and if you are interested will post on my Facebook Page Patchouli & Lace .  Thanks for you support and understanding.

Starry, starry night nails

Happy Sunday!  I've finally done another stamping mani!  I am really excited about this one, it's not quite as perfect as I would like, but I worked really hard on the idea and execution and am pleased with the outcome.  Especially after the manicure I posted yesterday!

I started with a base of China Glaze Ray-Diant smoothed it out with Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat and let it dry overnight.

I then stamped using China Glaze Up All Night and SE22

The stamping image was not large enough for my nails so I had to stamp most twice.  This looked even better IRL.  Here are some more images.

So what do you think?  Am I getting better?  Too many pictures?  Love to hear your comments :)

Sat-Art-Day Jam Tarts

First off today, I want to thank all you lovely ladies for commenting on my last manicure!  What a surprise it was to see all the comments and new followers!

I was so organized for today, or so I thought!  I knew it was "stamping Saturday and this week was Metallic. Well I think you all see my error here...it's Stamping Sunday and I was supposed to be a part of The Crumpet's new Sat-ART-Day Club and the challenge this week is Jam Tarts!  Well......now the dilemma...do I scrub off and start over???  My husband says "sure, just be sure to take pictures so use can still use that manicure"  WOW!  I think he's getting the hang of this!  So I started over.  Here are my Jam Tarts, which btw I had to Google to even find out what they are! lol

Don't they look delicious!  Now here are my nails:

Go ahead and laugh!  It looked MUCH better in my head. You better scroll up and look at the tarts again, but just in case you need another good laugh

Yep, they are square .  I didn't even bother editing the pictures.  Want to know the worst part?  I took off tomorrow's manicure  to do this!  AND I have church and a Hendricks Symphony Orchestra concert to attend tomorrow and I AM NOT GOING WITH THESE NAILS!  Sorry to yell at you.  On to do my third manicure of the day!  I guess today really was Sat-Art-Day!  At least it really was a challenge! haha  To create these yummy tarts I used Julep Morgan and Revlon Scandalous  for my grape jam.  I then attempted to frame my nails with China Glaze Kalahari Kiss.  Of course I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite so it will last and last (heading to the acetone bottle).  If you gotten this far in my rambling please take the time to visit some of the lovely Tarts found below :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Wednesday

I've gone pink on Wednesdays in October.  Andrea at Finger Painting Fingers had the idea and joined together a bunch of very talented bloggers who were all willing to Go Pink on wednesdays for this worthy cause.  Here is my submission:

I have used Wet n Wild Megalast Candy-licious/Rose bonbon a beautiful muted pink that covers in 2 coats and I accented with Revlon's Popular.

Please check out all the other girls participating in Pink Wednesday.

Teal Tuesday inspired by Alyssa Botello

Today is Teal Tuesday and this week we are doing a mani swap.  I pulled a very talented blogger named Alyssa Botello.  You can visit her blog Fancy Phalanges here, which is exactly what I did when I drew her name.  WOW!  So many beautiful manicures, which one should I attempt?
Then I found it, This post which featured textured nails done with of all things SALT!  Here is her lovely manicure:

and here is my inspired by:
Of course my version was done in a teal color by Nichole by OPI Respect the World.
Thank you Missy for arranging this fun swap and to Alyssa for such fun inspiration.  I will always remember you as I pick the salt crystals out of my laptop!  I also have to be really careful not to rub my eyes!  It looks really cool and unique though!  What do you think?

Billionaire On A Budget

Wow, it's only Thursday and here I am again! My last manicure wore rather quickly. Not sure if it was the polish or maybe the top coat caused shrinkage, but I couldn't stand having tip wear soooooooo...

Here is Deborah Lippmann Billionaire.  I needed 4 coats to get full coverage.  This is with NO topcoat, very pretty.  But...............I just couldn't leave it alone :)

I added some The Hungry Asian On A Budget to the tips.  Somehow it seemed appropriate :)  I am really pleased with how this came out.  I just hope this lasts longer than the last!

Teal Tuesday Three Colored Nails

I'm still not too sure about this blogging thing,  THEN I do my nails and they look like this and I want to share them with someone!  As you girls are the only ones who appreciate my artwork, here I am again!  I call you girls as most of you are at least half my age.  I hope no one is offended, I mean it only in the best way :)

ON TO THE NAILS!

I started with a base of two coats of Butter London All Hail The Queen.  I could probably wear this color for the rest of my life and be happy.  It is just so ME.  Neutral and yet Crazy Shiny in the Sun!
I then sponged  China Glaze Exotic Encounters on the tips and stamped with a zebra pattern in Wet N Wild Wild Shine Creme Black.

I am really happy with these nails :)

I hope you enjoy them as much as I am.  I think maybe my skills are improving OR I just got lucky!

Sweet Teal Cupcakes

Hello Lovely Ladies!  Sorry I haven't been blogging, but was happy to see I have 7 followers now!  I know that doesn't sound like much, but everyone starts somewhere!  I haven't stopped painting my nails, just blogging.  I can't seem to get in the daily routine of it.  I think it's all the picture editing more than anything.  I love painting my nails, I like writing the blog, but the whole picture process just isn't enjoyable for me :(  I'll keep trying though :)

Today I have some really "sweet" nails for you!  It's "Something Sweet" day on the teal tuesday's group and I decided to take that literally:

I

I know, my cherries are a little big.  I corrected that on my right hand, but alas, too late for the left.

All,in all, I am very happy with how these turned out.
Colors used are:  China Glaze Exotic Encounters and For Audrey, Wet n Wild Wild Shine French White Creme and Frosted Fuchia, topped off with a coat of Ulta Love Fern for the beautiful teal glitter.

I hope you all enjoy my "sweet" teal nails!

Teal Tuesday Funky French

Please excuse my short and sweet post today.  I am recovering from a migraine I suffered over the weekend and am not back completely yet.  Was able to polish my nails today and keep down some soup.  Soooooo, I MUST be getting better!

I took the second picture because that is my Mom's Cloisonne vase which kinda matched the teal and it sounded french.  My favorite thing I got from my Mom :)
I start with two coats of Wet n wild Wild Shine Caribbean Frost.  I few issues applying, this polish tends to be goopy.  The beautiful color and price of .69 cents make it worth the extra cleanup though.
I then tipped with Sinful Colors All About You and a coat of Seche Vite Dry fast top coat.  I'm happy with the way this turned out :)  Hope you like it too!
BTW excuse my birds, this page is still a work in progress.  I'm not even sure how they got there!

Strawberry refreshment

Whenever I just feel like having beautiful nails I know I can always reach for my polishes from The Hungry Asian.  Her polishes are so beautiful and easy to apply even a newcomer can't mess up!

This is two coats with one coat of Seche Vite.  Don't you love the tiny black "seeds" in the lucious red polish!  In case you can't see them look at this picture with a red filter:

So cute!  Notice the adoreable little heart shaped bottle the polish came in.  You can buy your own at her etsy shop HERE.

I want to give a special mention to a special blogger who recognised my desperation and lifted me up on her Claudia's Health and Beauty Community Facebook page.  Really surprised me and made my day when I was reading her post and realized she was talking about ME!  Thank you so much Claudia, now if I could figure that twitter thing out!

Anyway, I know this is long but wanted to share what I did in my down time:

Always makes my hands and nails feel better!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my post :)

Challenge challenged

Haven't really felt like posting any of my recent manis.  Seems like I'm just not getting the hang of this.  Ever since I started blogging I can't seem to get my manicures right!  I guess I am just challenge challenged.  That's hard to say!  I'll be honest and post a few here.

First up we have the Stamping Group "Adventures in Stamping" which I joined last week.  They vote on a theme for a Sunday manicure featuring stamp art.  Here is my first effort:

Looks pretty good right?  The theme was Can't Wait for Fall!  Somehow I thought it was a Summer manicure PLUS this was a neon orange color and I just didn't catch it in this photo. :(

Next up is the actual Fall theme.  I looked through all my stamps and all I could come up with was this little squirrel.

I know, I know, it's really hard to see him!  Plus the lousy picture just didn't pick up how pretty my base color was.  It had lovely fall colored shimmer.

On to my Tuesday Teal Challenge which this week was a Jelly Sandwich:

The glitter polish I selected just would come out of the bottle and play!  I finally just glopped some on and waited a long time for it to day and when I added another coat of my base color it just didn't seem to look as pretty as jelly sandwiches I've done in the past Sooooooo.....

I added another coat of the base color:

now you can't see too much of the glitter!  OK.  I give up for tonight.  I really need a successful manicure soon, I'm getting terribly discouraged :(

Keep inspiring me with all your lovely manicures!

Love to my ONE follower!

Poppy Blossom

Well that was the vision.  I got this advertisement from ULTA and really thought it would look cute on my nails.

It's raining outside, sorry about the picture.

If you have a nail fail do you still want to know what polishes I used?  No wait I HAVE NO FOLLOWERS!!!  Hence, I am talking to myself and besides it's probably good practice.
I started with a base of two coats of Wet n Wild Shine Red red, I then added one coat of Savvy French Cafe to dull them down a little.  I freehanded, I know you can't believe it!, the poppy flowers using some mixed polishes and added a top coat.

Well, it was a cute IDEA.  Have a great weekend.

Recycle with Indies

Today is one of those days.  Just am not going to have time to do my nails.  Sometimes I wonder how these other bloggers find time to paint nails EVERY day.  Guess I'll never know the secret.  I decided to recycle my failed art from yesterday.  I know JUST the thing.  I just received my first Indie polish order from The Hungry Asian.  Her polish Sneeze Breeze would look perfect with my base coat.  I may never take this off!  I love it!
This is just one coat of Sneeze Breeze over my art made with China Glaze For Audrey and Nicole by OPI Respect the World.  I then added a coat of a thick top coat.
If you actually made it this far THANK YOU for caring about my new obsession.  Alcoholism runs in my family and I'm not sure we should take up hobbies.  Someday soon I'll share my uncle's Christmas Village with you! haha

Pond Scum Nails

This is my first blog post EVER.  Please excuse my newbiness, is that a word? haha  Anyway here goes the nail artThat's really little!
The original nail art can be found at Criminal Nails, she called them swimming pool nails and her version is quite beautiful.  OK now for mine.  I think I'll call mine Pond Scum nails :)

Just in case you want to duplicate my effort, I started with two coats of China glaze For Audrey.  Using the Saran Manicure method, I added a top coat of Nicole by OPI Respect the World and daubed it with saran balls.  I definitely need some more practice!  I then added two coats of Essie no chips ahead, smoothed it out some.  Maybe I should forget this blogging stuff and just continue to practice and lurk.  I guess everyone starts somewhere!
